Phase-Modulations Analyses in Coherent Homodyne Optical CDMA Network Using a Novel Prime Code Family

چکیده
binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) format is deployed where the phase is modulated by either an external phase-modulator or injection-locking methods. The phase limitation and the performance for both phase-modulations including multiple access interferences (MAI) in a shot-noise limited regime are studied and moderate penalty associated with the limited phase excursion is revealed.

Evaluation of coherent homodyne and heterodyne optical CDMA structures
This paper evaluates the coherent optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) techniques and examines the overall system performance in terms of signalto-noise ratio (SNR) penalty as a function of simultaneous users accommodated to maintain an appropriate value of the bit-error rate (BER) for homodyne and heterodyne detections. As spreading codes, the proposed structures are utilizing a recen...
متن کاملCoherent optical pulse CDMA systems based on coherent correlation detection
Passive optical matched-filtered detection (MFD) has been employed in many proposed optical pulse code division multiple access (CDMA) system implementations, driving the development of unipolar pseudo-orthogonal codes (incoherent). In this paper, coherent optical pulse CDMA systems based on coherent correlation detection (CCD) through homodyne correlation detection (HCD) and self-HCD directly ...

متن کاملGaussian Approximation of the BER for Non-Coherent Optical Fiber CDMA Networks Using Sparse Codes
An analysis based on a Gaussian approximation of the BER performance for noncoherent optical fiber code-division multiple-access (CDMA) networks (both asynchronous and synchronous) is presented. The effects of shot noise, thermal noise, interference and the architecture of optical receivers are included in the evaluation of the BER. A general equation for the BER is established and it is shown ...
متن کاملSynchronous Optical Fiber Code-Division Multiple-Access Networks with Bipolar Capacity
A non-coherent synchronous optical fiber code-division multiple-access (CDMA) network is proposed. In this network, sequence-inversion keying (SIK) of intensity modulated unipolar balanced Walsh code sequences is employed, whereby a code sequence is transmitted for each data ‘1’ bit while the logical complement of that sequence is transmitted for each data ‘0’ bit. At the receiver the received ...
